The middle child, Benjamin occasionally suffers from bouts of insecurity. His insecurities stem from having to live up to his older brother Westley while playing the big brother to his younger sister Marie. Even though he knows that he’s not any less capable than his siblings, from time to time he does feel like he’s forgotten between his charismatic brother and his baby sister. His relationship with Westley is somewhat strained. As siblings who are only a year apart, most figured that they would be rather close and at some point they were. As Benjamin became older he found that he spent less time with his brother and father and more with his mother. It was apparent to Ben that he was not the son his father wanted. Even though he did try to live up to expectations, he wasn’t quite as outgoing and vocal as Westly and had little in common with his father. His father didn’t help the issue by pointing to his older brother as an example of what he could be if he applied himself driving a wedge further between the siblings that Benjamin isn’t sure that time will fix. Having come into his own at Hogwarts and finding his place has helped greatly, although he’s not sure if he can get back the relationship they once had. He supposes that time will tell. Benjamin is a bundle of contradictions. He’s non-confrontational and yet will stand up for his friends in a blink of an eye. He’s an introvert until you get to know him or ask him about one of his interests, and then he won’t be quiet. Incredibly intelligent, but he only puts effort into the classes that truly interest him. Benjamin finds that those who don’t know him find him confusing, and that’s exactly how he likes it. He’s passionate about several things in life. Quidditch, photography, reading, and muggle classic rock. Get him going on any of these topics and he can go on at length, occasionally stopping to breathe. Benjamin is starting to become more vocal now that he’s in his sixth year. He’s learned that if you don’t stand up for something you’ll fall for anything, and he refuses to be that type of person who just sits back and lets things happen. He can still be very passive aggressive, but with the help of good friends he’s working on it. |

Everyone knew that Rose and Adrian Pucey’s marriage was not doing well. In fact, it had become a topic that several pureblooded ladies talked about as a cautionary tale to their young daughters. They married because Rose was pregnant, not for love or even because of a arranged marriage. Born a year after his brother Westley, Benjamin’s home life was strained, as he felt torn between trying to make his father realize he was even there, and being there for his mother. Ultimately, he grew closer to his mother and to this day barely acknowledges his father. When his letter for Hogwarts finally arrived he was excited that finally he would get to go, but worried for his mother at home with only his sister for company. Although he had secretly hoped that perhaps his letter might make his father proud, Adrian’s only response was that at least he wasn’t a squib. Crestfallen, he went shopping for his school supplies with his mother and eagerly awaited his chance to board the train. Benjamin had fully expected to be sorted into his father’s house of Slytherin along with his older brother. To his surprise, he was instead sorted into his mother’s house of Hufflepuff, becoming the first Pucey not sorted into Slytherin. Regardless, he has found his place in Hufflepuff and wouldn’t change his house for any other. He’s had time to explore himself a little more and has made friends in and out of his house. Benjamin has also found a love for quidditch. Of course he had played a little as a boy and even saw a game or two, but he’d never really given much thought to actually playing. He tried out on a whim his fifth year and made the team as a reserve beater. During his sixth year, he finally made the team as a starter and has been playing every game since then. He’s not exactly sure what he wants to do after graduation but figures he’s got another year to worry about it. |
